Difference Between Hajj and Umrah
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is obligatory for every Muslim once in their lifetime, provided they are physically fit and financially capable, but Umrah is a sunnah which is not obligatory for any muslim to perform must, Prophet P.B.U.H performed 4 times Umrah in their life time. Rites of Hajj / Umrah are Ihram, Sa’y, Standing at ‘Arafat and then Tawaf al-ifada.
Hajj is performed over specific days during a Zil Hajj Islamic month. However, Umrah can be performed at any time, Although they share common rites, Umrah can be performed in less than a few hours while Hajj is more time-consuming 4 to 5 days, and involves more rituals.
